Peugeot 308 Launched in Philippines

MANILA: With the demise of Peugeot 307, Filipinos almost deprived of enjoying any C-segment Peugeot car and therefore, the brand has come up with the Peugeot 308 launch in Philippines which sits on a brand-new EMP 2 platform and also carries many refinement and upgrades in its offerings.

Available in both hatchback and wagon form, the latter boasts about 810 L of cargo space with rear seats folded. The cargo rails and tie-downs along with large underfloor compartment with more cubbies, shelves, and full-size spare come as standard. The top variant, GT features GT badging and leather quilted seats with red stitches in contrast while the 17-inch or 18-inch wheels complete its beauty outside.

All Peugeot 308 variants get LED cabin lights, running lights, and triple-projector LED headlights to glow and shimmer in the night. The 9.7-inch touchscreen that handles all vehicle infotainment and climate control function is also standard across all ranges. The instrument cluster is mounted over the steering wheel while the wide-set analogue gauges with neat contra-rotating needles are specifically designed to clear the small and sporty tiller.

Peugeot 308 has well-bolstered seats, taut and well-damped suspension and precise steering which allows for a good smooth ride. The Peugeot 308 engines are 1.6 HDI diesel cranking out 120 hp and 300 Nm of torque and 1.6 THP, propelling 150 hp and 240 Nm. Both these engines come in a pair with a six-speed automatic gearbox.
