Shell leads global lubricants market for 2 decades straight

MANILA: Shell has been hailed as this year’s best-selling lubricant globally—leading the industry for the 20th consecutive year.

The recognition was based on the latest edition of Kline & Company’s market analysis and assessment of global lubricants, maintaining its status as the global supplier of automotive and industrial oils and fluids for two decades straight.

Based on the report, Shell led across the three main lubricants categories tracked by Kline: consumer automotive, commercial automotive, and industrial. 

“Today’s award is not just about retention; it is about 20 years of intentional focus on building momentum for our business and our customers. It reflects two decades of dedication from our team in supplying the right lubricant and fluid solutions for friction and thermal management to our consumer, commercial and industrial customers,” Shell Lubricants Global Executive Vice President Jason Wong said.

“Over the last 20 years, our advances have powered performance for everyday drivers, critical industrial sectors, and even Formula 1 engines. We’re proud to power the world’s progress with our brand, technology, and people. Our focus now is looking forward, ensuring we continue to play a leading role in providing the lubricants and fluid solutions of tomorrow,” he added.

Shell lubes

Among the lubricants that Shell offers in the Philippines are the following:

• Helix: for passenger cars
• Advance: for motorcycles
• Rimula: commercial vehicles, trucks, and buses

For her part, Kline & Company Vice President of Energy Annie Jarquin noted that while the market has evolved drastically, Shell was able to adapt. 

“The lubricants market has evolved significantly over the past two decades, and Shell's position as market leader is due to their combination of consistency and adaptability, all whilst maintaining their global reach."
