Southwood City 4x4 Park Finally Opens For Some Real Off-Roading Experience

MANILA: Adventure sports have certainly become quite prevalent in the country. But what if you bring together the Philippine love for automotives with their equivalent love for thrill? The newly opened Southwood City 4x4 Park attempts to answer all these questions by offering the Filipino motorists a place to vent their rage. In the midst of the ongoing urban expansion, it is sure hard to find a decent spot to test out your SUVs and 4x4s. Thankfully the new adventure park is located towards the south of Manila in Laguna city. To kick the things off NASFOR (National Association of Filipino Off-Roaders)along with MORI (Manila Off-Roaders Inc.) also organised the Extreme Dirt Road Challenge at the first day of the park’s opening.

The park attempts to offer a highly variable and extreme off-roading terrain similar to the ones encountered near the hillsides, valleys and jungles, minus the lack of safety. But that doesn’t mean it is meant for amateurs as the obstacles and terrain has been designed to put even the most seasoned off-roaders to the test. The 4x4 Park contains several ramps, ditches, water crossing, V-canals, table tops and Elephant tracks to provide the best of what the wild has to offer. Apart from this, there are also several amenities such as a cafeteria, dining area and public restrooms, so that you don’t really have to eat in the open or go in the bushes.

The event was also openly supported by various off-roading clubs in the country including the Land Rover Club of the Philippines who also showed the spectators some extreme moves. The track not only offers moderate trails for your standard SUVs but one can also take their ATVs and off-road racers and test out their efficiency to the max. The track was designed by Mr. Lito Joaquin who was commissioned by NASFOR and MORI leaders Mr. Ramon To-Ong and Mr. Brian Ong, who declared the Southwood City 4x4 Park to be open for public.
