SPOTTED: JAC JS6 PHEV in PH

MANILA: The possible launch date for the JAC JS6 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) will likely be within the latter part of 2025.

Based on the tip that Zigwheels Philippines received, the upcoming model is expected to be officially unveiled by the fourth quarter of the year. Such information came after the model was spotted in Makati recently.

Seen in white body color, the aforementioned crossover sports a different grille design compared to the currently-offered version.

 JAC (Jianghuai Automobile Company Limited) Motors Philippines has yet to announce whether the yet-to-be-launched model will replace the existing iteration or be retailed alongside it.

While waiting for more the Astara-led automotive distributor to disseminate more information, here are some tidbits about the forthcoming plug-in hybrid version of the JAC JS6 based on the documentation that the Land Transportation Office (LTO) released last May.

As stated in the LTO papers, the vehicle tapes in at:

The said version sits on 19-inch wheels wrapped in 235/50 series tires.  

Powering the JAC JS6 PHEV is a 1.5-liter gasoline-fed engine with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery in (as the name suggests) plug-in hybrid configuration.

The said setup has the capacity to provide the following numbers:

Charging time (in hours)	Seven

To recall, Juan Paulo Papa reported the model’s possible arrival late last year after covering the Auto Guangzhou 2024.

Known as the QX PHEV in China, the JAC JS6 PHEV is fitted with a dedicated hybrid transmission.
