MANILA: Mini has appointed Stefan Richmann as the marque’s incoming Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Per the British carmaker, Richmann will replace Stefanie Wurst, who has led the brand since February 2022.

“We would like to thank Stefanie Wurst for her great personal commitment and her valuable contribution to Mini’s future direction. With Stefan Richmann, a senior executive of the BMW Group with many years of experience in Germany and abroad, will take over the management of the MINI brand from August,” BMW Customer, Brands, and Sales Board of Management Member Jochen Goller said in s press release.

Richmann started his career in the BMW Group sometime in 1997. Since then, he has held numerous positions within the company including Corporate Strategic Planning in 2000, Head of Sales Controlling in 2004, and BMW Spain Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in 2008.

He fulfilled several further management roles in the Finance and Controlling division and Product Management at BMW Group headquarters from 2010, and served as CFO for the conglomerate in the United States from 2017.

In April 2022, Richmann took over as head of the Corporate Strategy division.

Richmann will assume his new role on August 1, 2024.
