Subaru provides virtual test drive experience through EyeSight
MANILA: Motor Image Pilipinas, Inc., official distributor of Subaru vehicles in the country, provides drivers with a distinct virtual test drive experience through the EyeSight Driver Assist Technology (EyeSight).
This feature is present in the 2020 Subaru Forester 2.0i-L. The EyeSight enables the driver to take a virtual ride and schedule a test drive after to have a feel of the actual road.
Established in Japan in 1953, Subaru is steadily growing to be one of the leading automakers worldwide. Global motoring organizations recognize Subaru for its reliability, security, functionality, design, and engineering.
Through the EyeSight, safety measures can be learned during virtual test drives in their homes. This enables the driver to gain more confidence during actual driving. Fancy goggles are not needed since drivers can click play to demonstrate how every setting works to protect them and their families while traveling.
EyeSight Driver Assist Technology is considered the peak of what Subaru engineers have collectively known regarding road safety. The company attributes this work to gaining more than US$1 million in terms of sales of EyeSight-equipped vehicles.
To add more confidence during driving, EyeSight notifies drivers if they stray from their lane, and it also enhances cruise control and monitors traffic.
Based on the study of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), EyeSight has been found to decrease the rate of rear-end collisions by up to 85%.
The heart of the EyeSight system lies in the range of its dual color cameras. These cameras are inconspicuously and conveniently positioned close to the rearview mirror so that the road can be monitored for unforeseen hazards. This new technology also gives additional peace of mind, mindfulness, and safety while driving.
EyeSight consists of six various components that provide a safe and secure test drive experience. These components include the Lead Vehicle Start Alert, Pre-Collision Throttle Management, Pre-Collision Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Sway Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control.
The Lead Vehicle Start Alert component warns the driver when the car in front has begun moving.
The Pre-Collision Braking feature enables drivers to minimize or prevent frontal impacts through notifications and application of full braking force, especially during emergencies. According to an IIHS study, this EyeSight component was found to reduce pedestrian-related accidents by up to 35%.
Meanwhile, Pre-Collision Throttle Management enables the detection of objects directly in front of the vehicle where collision is highly possible. It will help decrease the power from the engine to reduce frontal impact and further damage.
The Lane Departure Warning and Lane Sway Assist components work together similarly. This cutting-edge system utilizes in-vehicle cameras to monitor noticeable lane markings on the road. If the driver strays outside his or her designated lane, the Lane Departure Warning system will notify the driver using audible and visual alerts.
The Eyesight Adaptive Cruise Control is another unique component. For drivers to have a safe distance from a car that is in front of them, a certain distance should be maintained. The Adaptive Cruise Control functions to automatically change the speed and maintain a preferred distance.
Subaru continues to give high priority to the health and safety of its customers during these trying times. Through the EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, a unique test drive experience can be employed even in the comfort of their own homes.
