Suzuki Celerio no longer part of brand's PH roster

MANILA: Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPH) has stopped retailing the Celerio in the country.

In an interview, SPH Senior Marketing Manager Odessa Gan confirmed the aforementioned move as the company currently undergoes transition for its A- segment hatchback offerings.

“We’re having a transition on this. For now, we will focus on offering the S-Presso in this segment,” Gan told Zigwheels Philippines.

Further, SPH Product and Planning Head Kennedy Adia echoed Gan's statement, saying that move is aimed to allowing the company to focus "only on one entry for the 1.0-liter segment."

"Since S-Presso sells well, the management decided to focus on this model," Adia explained.

Celerio specs

Here’s what the Suzuki Celerio offers to buyers in the Philippines.

Introduced locally in May 2022, the Suzuki Celerio boasts a fluid design complemented with the following exterior appointments:

• Extended rear fenders, together with the rear combination lamps mounted on the shoulder lines
• 15-inch black alloy wheels

The car’s interior is fitted with:

• 6.2-inch touchscreen audio unit with Weblink 2.0, Bluetooth and USB connectivity
• Multi-function steering wheel
• 295-liter luggage capacity and 60:40 split folding rear seats

Powering the Suzuki Celerio is a 1.0-liter K10C Dualjet engine that can deliver:

Maximum output (in horsepower)	67
Peak torque (in Newton-meters)	89

This mill is paired with a five-speed manual transmission or an Auto Gear Shift (AGS) system.

Such a powertrain combination — along with its Engine Auto Stop Start System (EASS) — allows the vehicle to do 28.25 kilometers per liter (based on the test conducted by the Automobile Association Philippines).

Back then, the all-new Celerio was made available in four color options namely Arctic White, Glistening Gray, Fire Red, and Speedy Blue Metallic — with prices ranging from P708,000-P754,000 (depending on the trim).

S-Presso details

Meanwhile, these are the Philippine-spec Suzuki S-Presso’s features.

Revealed locally in May 2023, the Suzuki S-Presso’s current version wears:

• Four-holed grille with trapezoid motifs
• Halogen headlamps and C-shaped taillamps
• 14-inch alloy wheels

Inside, the vehicle is designed with fabric seats and hard plastic fittings; a multi-function power steering wheel; and seven-inch touchscreen that is compatible with Android Auto and Apple Carplay.

Under the Suzuki S-Presso’s hood is the same engine found in the Celerio.

It also has EASS, hill-hold control, electronic stability program — among other technologies.
