Suzuki Cars PH to showcase eVitara at PIMS 2026?

MANILA: Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPH) will be showing off something new at the upcoming Philippine International Motor Show 2026. For now, the company has not shared what this model is, but it was described as Suzuki’s “latest global electrified model.” 

If we had to guess, this could be the Suzuki eVitara, which initially debuted at Milan, Italy, in November 2024. The aforementioned was also included just this year by the Department of Energy (DOE) under its electric vehicle list. 

The Suzuki eVitara was likewise given a nod by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) via Memorandum Circular No. MVL-2026-5028, thus approving the registration of its units in the local setting. 

With all of these mentioned, SPH’s booth at the upcoming PIMS 2026 will have an appropriate theme that signals its official entry into the local all-electric segment. The booth’s theme reads: “Come Alive: The New Era Begins,” which, of course, hints at SPH’s “next leap in innovation, electrification, and future-ready mobility for Filipino drivers.”

Suzuki eVitara: what to expect

As of this publication, SPH has not confirmed that it is indeed the eVitara, nor has the company said whether it will be a product launch or merely a preview. Regardless, let’s check out what the Suzuki eVitara is offering to future adopters. 

According to the DOE, the eVitara uses a single electric motor setup that drives the vehicle's front wheels. At maximum, it can produce up to 171 horsepower and 193 Newton-meters of torque. It also has a range of 426 kilometers (km) and a fast-charging direct current (DC) port. 

In other markets, the model also comes with the following amenities and features:

• Automatic air conditioning system
• Cabin lights with ambient lighting
• Bottle holders
• Type A and Type C USB charging ports
• 12-volt accessory socket
•  Wireless phone charger

Like the updated Suzuki Jimny 3-door, the eVitara, where it is sold, has the Suzuki Dual Sensor Brake Support (II) system. Other safety features available on this EV crossover include multiple collision braking, lane departure prevention, lane-keep assist, adaptive high beams, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control - among others. 

For those who want to see SPH’s booth at PIMS 2026, be reminded that the event is due to kick off from June 4-7, 2026, at the World Trade Center Metro Manila in Pasay City.
