Tesla may come up with an all-electric pickup this summer

MANILA:  The electric pickup truck market does not provide you with many options but Tesla might come up with an electric truck and that too under PHP 2.5 million. CEO Elon Musk mentioned in a recent podcast that this expected pickup truck will be affordable. However,

there will be other trims that will be a bit more expensive. He also specified that this all-electric pickup will not look like a regular pickup. It will get a futuristic look, which will be suitable for those who want a pickup truck with modern and unique looks and yet having a subtle cost.  

Talking about the performance, Musk claims that the pickup truck will be capable of traveling 400-500 miles. It might get dual motor all-wheel-drive powertrain with dynamic suspension. The towing capacity figure will rest at 300,000 lbs.

The CEO hinted this towing capacity when he laughed at the towing capacity of Dodge Ram. This is the second time that he mocked the competitor as ‘children’s toy’. Earlier he did the same for the charging capacity of a Porsche’s nameplate.

As far as the capacity is concerned, the CEO mentioned “It’s going to be a truck that is more capable than other trucks. The goal is to be a better truck than an [Ford> F-150 in terms of truck-like functionality and be a better sports car than a standard [Porsche> 911. That’s the aspiration.”  

Recently, a Tesla carrier was also spotted with a covered pickup truck. Upon closer look, the pickup truck has exhaust pipes similar to that of Ford F-150. We do not have any further detail about the upcoming beast but if Tesla can achieve what they promise at this price point, they will definitely hit the bullseye.
