Tribute car for Ken Block found in Cyberpunk 2077

MANILA: Someone from CD Projekt Red must be a Hoonigan fan.

That’s because the latest update for Cyberpunk 2077 includes a tribute car for the late Ken Block.

In Update 2.0 (which introduced armed vehicles, among other things), the video game developer known for titles like The Witcher series and the Gwent card game, included a car clearly dedicated to the professional drift driver.

Easter eggs can be found all around the Quadra Type-66 Hoon.

These include Block’s iconic car number 43 (which was retired by the American Rally Association to honor Block) as well as “KB 67-23” on the vehicle’s doors, paying homage to the year he was born and the year he died.

To make things cooler, the car can be found in a warehouse, which is pretty much a staple in Block’s Gymkhana videos. Further, introducing players to the “I’m in love with my car” side quest is none other than Johnny Silverhand, voiced by Keanu Reeves.

Block was no stranger to video games as he was featured on other series like Need for Speed, Dirt, and Forza.

Aged 55, Block died due to a snowmobile accident.

“Ken was a visionary, a pioneer, and an icon. And most importantly, a father and husband. He will be incredibly missed,” Hoonigan wrote in an Instagram post.
