WRC 2016 Calendar Confirmed

MANILA: FIA has finally confirmed the WRC 2016 calendar for the next fall and its quite exciting to see how many different locations this renowned rally racing championship will go. In all, it will be a fourteen round racings event that will start from January and go all the way down to November.

Racers will run their beasts down on gravel, ice, asphalt and snow lands that will take them on a tour of five continents. Oliver Ciesla, Managing Director, WRC said that this ten-month long event including a wide array of destination is an enticing blend of rally racing heritage that is an amalgamation of class and asphalt.

The FIA 2016 World Rally Championship is different in many ways from the earlier seasons. Firstly, with China joining the event, Asia has become the fifth continent to be showcased at the event since 1991. Back then it gained at lot from the big investment ahead of the 2014 APEC. This time, around China, will be the 10th destination and the rally will take place from 9 to 11 September in Huairou district (70 km from Beijing).

Secondly, due to the contractual agreement with FIA and WRC, this time, around we'll see the racers competing in France and Monte Carlo. Thirdly, Australia this year around has become the final spot, from last year September slot, now it has been moved down to November. The final racing will be accompanied by a gala performance.

Lastly, rally Great Britain will become the final European destination, the racing will take place in Whales from 28th to 30th October. This time around the weather conditions is tricky in GB, thus making the event even more exciting. The starting of this spectacular event will take pace through an inaugural event in Monaco in the presence of sport world celebrities.
