Wuling debuts Cortez Darion EV, PHEV at 2025 GIIAS

MANILA: Wuling Indonesia has held the global debut of the Cortez Darion electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) at the 2025 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show.

The Wuling Cortez Darion is a three-row multi-purpose vehicle.Both versions are multi-purpose vehicles (MPV) with three-row, seven-seater cabin layouts. In both versions, the Cortez Darian also features sleek exteriors and a range of creature comforts and onboard technologies.
Style-wise, the Wuling Cortez Darion was bestowed with an elegant take on the MPV formula. It doesn’t use dramatic curves or angles, and instead, it opted for a clean-looking outline with a generously tall green house, expansive doors, and a minimal amount of character lines.
Photo from OtoFor the EV version, it comes with a closed-off grille and a large air intake on the center of its front lower bumper. The PHEV version, on the other hand, comes with a large, square-shaped, black-colored grille. Both also sport a pair of sharp LED headlamp clusters.
As of their debut, Wuling Indonesia has yet to provide a full feature list for the Cortez Darion, but both will come with automatic sliding doors and an electronic sunroof.

Powertrain
The all-new Wuling Cortez Darion, as mentioned, is available in both EV and PHEV versions. For the fully electric trim, it features a single-motor setup capable of producing up to 201 horsepower (hp). It also has a cruising range of 540 kilometers according to the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC), as well as a CCS2 fast charging feature that can fill its batteries from 30-80 percent in just 30 minutes.
Photo from OtoOn the other hand, the PHEV version uses a 1.5-liter engine paired with an electric motor. No total output figures for the electrified model were provided, but its electric motor alone can put out 194 hp. It also boasts an EV mode with a range of 125 km, and a total combined range of over 1,000 km.
Both EV and PHEV models are based on the Wuling Wonder Modular Platform, which is touted for its flexibility. Both also operate on the Ling Operating System.

As of its launch at the 2025 GIIAS, Wuling Indonesia has yet to provide pricing details for the Cortez Darion. It was disclosed, however, that the company will be producing the said EV and PHEV models in its manufacturing plant in Cikarang, West Java.
To note, Wuling is already in the Philippine market as of 2024. As such, there might be a chance that the Cortez Darion made in Indonesia could see a local launch, considering our proximity to our Southeast Asian neighbor. Additionally, both the Philippines and Indonesia are members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), which allows for reduced import taxes through the ASEAN Free Trade Area framework.
