Zigwheels weekly wrap-up: March 3-7

MANILA: The first week of March 2025 saw significant car launches and other new developments in the local automotive industry. 

Some folks might have missed one or two pieces of news. As such, here is Zigwheels Philippines’ wrap-up of March 3-7, 2025. 

Car launches

Toyota GR Supra MT, updated GR Yaris

Toyota Motor Philippines has launched the new Gazoo Racing (GR) Supra with a six-speed manual transmission, as well as the updated GR Yaris for the model year 2025. 

The only element setting the new GR Supra variant apart from the older version is its use of a stick shift. It has the same engine under the hood, and it even has an identical P5.552 million starting price as the automatic version. Click here to read more about the Toyota GR Supra MT. 

The updated Toyota GR Yaris, on the other hand, received choice improvements to its exterior, a new automatic gearbox, new interior features, and a slight bump up in power. Click here to read more about the updated hot hatch. 

BYD Shark 6 DMO launch

BYD Cars Philippines has introduced the all-new Shark 6 DMO plug-in hybrid pickup truck. It comes with a lot of features and is a capable off-road vehicle that can generate up to 429 horsepower and 650 Newton-meters of torque.

Upcoming cars

Nissan PH to introduce all-new Patrol

Nissan Philippines will be bringing in the all-new Patrol on March 28, 2025. Plus, the marque’s local arm has already opened the reservation books for the upcoming sports utility vehicle (SUV).

'Refreshed' Honda HR-V price revealed

Honda Cars Philippines Incorporated has revealed the pricing of the refreshed HR-V. It will be retailed with a price ranging from P1.45 million-P1.799 million. The brand also announced its public launch event, which is set for March 9 at SM North EDSA.

JMC PH to launch NEV models

JMC (Jiangling Motors Corporation) announced its plan to launch more new energy vehicles for the local market through Jiangxi Jiangling Group New Energy Vehicle Company Limited.

No exact nameplates were cited, but the company said it will consist of "rugged workhorse pickups to everyday electric sedans."

Dongfeng Motors PH buy-one-get-one offer

Dongfeng Motors Philippines has introduced a buy-one-get-one promo. Specifically, each purchase of the Aeolus Huge HEV will come packaged with a free EX1 Pro electric vehicle (EV). The said promo is available until March 31, 2025.

Mazda PH low monthly offers

Mazda Philippines, in partnership with Security Bank, is offering a low monthly financing promo for the CX-60 and CX-90. The said promo can be availed by customers until May 31, 2025 only.
