Pulsar RS200: tech finds

Bajaj Motors stepped out of its partnership with Kawasaki Philippines not too long ago and became a standalone brand in the country with the help of Trimotors Technology Corporation.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What powers the Bajaj Pulsar RS200?

It is powered by a 199.5 cubic-centimeter engine mated to a six-speed transmission.
  • How much power does it make?

It dishes out some 24 horses and nearly 19 Newton-meters of pulling power.
  • After which, the Indian motorcycle company released a salvo of motorbikes that dropped the “Rouser” moniker in exchange for the “Pulsar” nameplate.

On that note, let’s take a quick look at what the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 has to offer, specifically in the area of onboard technology.

    Other stories:

    LCD infotainment display

One of the most noticeable technological offerings by the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is its digital instrument cluster.

Cradled just in between the sporty windshield and ergonomic handlebars, it offers a crisp display of relevant riding information.

The instrument cluster is housed in a panel with a faux carbon fiber finish. A little over the lower left-hand side is a USB type-A charging port to recharge smartphones, should one take on longer journeys where navigation applications are a must.

    Anti-lock braking

Ensuring the safety of its riders is a dual-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS), which prevents the brakes from locking up in situations where braking hard is necessary.

With ABS in place, raiders can maintain steering control and stability, preventing crashes and any untoward incident while atop their two-wheeled metal steeds.

Helping with smooth decelerations and quick halts are disc brakes, front and back.

    200-cc engine

In betwixt the rider’s thighs is a 199.5 cubic-centimeter engine mated to a six-speed transmission.

Considered more of an engineering find rather than a technological one, it dishes out some 24 horses and nearly 19 Newton-meters of pulling power.
