MANILA: Triumph Motorcycles Philippines, under the distributorship of the Autohub Group, has officially launched the Scrambler 400 XC as the more hardcore, off-road-oriented version of the Scrambler 400 X.

Propelling the Triumph Scrambler 400 XC is a 398-cubic-centimeter, single-cylinder, double-overhead-cam, four-valve engine paired with a wet, multi-plate clutch with slip and assist feature, as well as a six-speed gearbox.

Similar to the Scrambler 400 X, the XC version uses a tubular steel hybrid spine frame with a bolt-on subframe. Its rear swingarm is a twin-sided, cast-aluminum unit with a gas monoshock with an external reservoir, while its front end uses 43-millimeter (mm) big-piston forks. Both front and rear suspension system provides up to 150 mm of travel.

In contrast to the Scrambler 400 X, the Scrambler 400 XC comes with an aluminum sump guard, a front mudguard with a higher mounting point, and spoked tubeless wheels (19x2.5-inches).
