Yamaha Motor PH showcases R9 at Yamaha Motor Show 2025

MANILA: Yamaha Motor Philippines (YMPH) has displayed the YZF R9 sport bike at the ongoing Yamaha Motor Show 2025.

However, the local wing of the Japanese motorcycle brand noted that the performance-oriented model is not yet for sale.

Possible PH specifications

According to YMPH, the displayed model has the following specifications:

• 890 cubic-centimeter (cc) engine
• Lightweight deltabox and aluminum frame
• Aerodynamic winglets and bodywork
• Brembo Stylema front brake calipers
• BYD fully-adjustable suspension
• Yamaha Ride Control modes
• Advanced rider aids with six-axis internal measurement unit
• Aggressive R-series styling
• Cruise control and variable speed limiter
• Five-inch thin-film transistor display with smartphone connectivity

The Yamaha YZF R9 is currently available in major markets such as the United States (US), Canada, and Europe.

In the US region, the motorbike is fitted with a six-speed, multiplate wet clutch with assist and slipper clutch. There, it is also packaged with 17-inch wheels shod in 120/70 ZR Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport tires at the front and 180/55 ZR Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport tires at the rear.

Further, the US-market Yamaha YZF R9 packs dual 320-millimeter (mm) hydraulic disc brakes with anti-lock braking (ABS) at the fore and a single 220-mm hydraulic disc brake with ABS at the back.

American customers looking to ride home with the 2025 Yamaha YZF R9 will be set back some $12,499 (approximately P727,159).
