Yamaha Motor PH to launch Bolt R-Spec BDub?

MANILA: It is only a matter of time before Yamaha Motor Philippines (YMPH) unleashes its latest product for 2025.

Based on the Land Transportation Office (LTO) data, the local distributor of the Hamamatsu-headquartered motorcycle marque has registered for specification and classification the Yamaha Bolt R-Spec BDub.

Here are some bits of information about the soon-to-be-revealed model.

Initial specs, speculations

Per LTO, the upcoming Yamaha Bolt R-Spec BDub has the following measurements:

Overall length, width, height (in millimeters [mm>)	2,290 x 1,120 x 830
Wheelbase (in mm)	1,570
Ground clearance (in mm)	130
Gross vehicle weight (in kilograms)	453

With the given proportions, the aforementioned two-wheeler might serve as the nameplate’s new variant or — at most — an updated iteration.

In addition, the forthcoming offering still sits on 19-inch front and 16-inch rear tires.

Powering the arriving Yamaha motorcycle is the familiar two-cylinder, fuel-injected 942-cubic centimeter gasoline-fed engine that allows it to run as fast as 180 kilometers per hour. Aside from that, the LTO also classified it as an L3 category vehicle — allowing it to operate along expressways.

Should our speculation about the arriving bobber be true, then the Yamaha Bolt R-Spec BDub’s mill will still be mated to a constant mesh, five-speed transmission with wet, multiple clutch disc.

The model’s powertrain will likely offer similar output as the currently-retailed option, which can already deliver:

The said model will be competing against the likes of the Kawasaki Vulcan S  (which is carrying an engine way below the 900cc-mark) and the Honda Rebel 1100 (powered by a 1,100-cc mill)

Further, the vehicle might come with the same suspension set-up as the present version:

• Front: Telescopic (135-mm travel)
• Rear: Swingarm (110-mm travel)

Its stopping power will probably be provided by hydraulic single-disc brakes on both wheels.

While YMPH has yet to announce its arrival and share details about the model, Zigwheels Philippines is guessing that the Yamaha Bolt R-Spec BDub might come with an expanded range of color options as the motorcycle can only be had in Power Gray as of the moment.

Lastly, the Yamaha Bolt R-Spec BDub will possibly be priced north of P619,000.
