Chevrolet Spark EUV

Upon entering the Chevrolet Spark EUV, you are greeted by a predominantly-black interior that looks and feels very premium, thanks to a mix of plush soft-touch panels with matte chrome accents and carbon-like highlights, as well as modern features. Up front, the driver has access to a modern-looking cockpit, which consists of an 8.8-inch digital instrument display and a multi-control steering wheel wrapped in leather.

Meanwhile, all passengers can enjoy a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display that has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and is linked to a 6-speaker sound system. For added convenience, this EUV also comes with seat back pockets, a 12V power outlet, and a total of three USB ports (Type-A: 2, Type-C: 1). 

Practicality-wise, the front row provides both the driver and the co-pilot with ample headroom and legroom, while the rear can comfortably accommodate two adult passengers. Its trunk also offers up to 1,493 liters of cargo space with the second-row seats folded, proving that it is indeed a practical everyday vehicle in the city. 

In terms of dimensions, the Chevrolet Spark EUV measures 4,003 mm in length, 1,760 mm in width, and 1,726 mm in height. This EV also comes with a 2,560-mm wheelbase and a 140-mm ground clearance. 

The Spark EUV’s exterior design looks cute and rugged at the same time. Its geometric fascia is flanked by rectangular LED projector headlamps with quad LED DRLs, which give its front end a futuristic look. A sleek black panel, displaying the Chevrolet emblem, is placed between its headlamps. Underneath, it features a bulky bumper with some gray accents.

Its boxy SUV frame is evident from the side. It features a two-tone side profile, accentuated by blacked-out pillars, wheel arches, and side skirts. This EUV gets power-adjustable and foldable side mirrors with integrated turn signals and is fitted with 16-inch wheels with cobweb-like trims. 

Moreover, its distinct-looking rear is illuminated by pod-shaped LED combination lamps and an LED high mount stop lamp. This EUV also gets LED rear fog lamps with reflectors for added visibility, especially at night. Lastly, it comes with a side-opening tailgate, enhancing its overall modern appeal wherever it goes. 

In terms of suspension, the Chevrolet Spark EUV is equipped with MacPherson Struts at the front and a Torsion Beam with Coil Spring at the rear. Its setup offers just the right balance of softness and firmness for its price. It is quite enjoyable to drive through twists and turns. It also offers decent absorption of small to medium-sized humps and other minor road imperfections. However, it is better to drive with extra caution on roads with larger bumps and deep potholes.

The Chevrolet Spark EUV is powered by a single permanent magnet synchronous motor that generates 102 PS of maximum power and 180 Nm of maximum torque. Feeding its motor is a 41.9-kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery that offers an NEDC driving range of up to 360 kilometers. The Spark EUV utilizes a front-wheel drivetrain. 

Equipped with a CCS2 charging port, the battery supports DC fast charging with a maximum capacity of 50 kW. This EUV also comes with a portable charger and an emergency power-off switch.

That said, its performance figures may not look impressive on paper, but this EV feels surprisingly peppy, thanks in part to its size. Its range is adequate for everyday city driving but is a bit limited for long-distance trips out of town.

The Chevrolet Spark EUV is equipped with multiple advanced driver assistance systems, namely, an intelligent driving assist system with adaptive cruise control and traffic jam assist, cruise control on curves, lane departure warning and prevention, emergency lane keeping, and a front collision safety system with forward collision braking and automatic emergency braking.

Additionally, its disc brakes are supported by an anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, electronic stability control with traction control system, and hill start assist.

The Chevrolet Spark hits the sweet spot for consumers looking for an all-electric (mini) SUV that is both practical for everyday city use and enjoyable to drive out on the open road. It is also feature-rich and well suited to modern driving conditions.
