Hyundai Elantra N

Like the exterior, the interior of the Hyundai Elantra N has also been tweaked with fresher-looking add-ons and tweaks that scream sportiness to the T. The N lightweight sport bucket seats with leatherette upholstery, microsuede inserts, and an illuminated N logo welcome you with the spirit of sportiness. Other bits like N leather-wrapped steering wheel with N mode buttons, N gear shift knob, aluminium N door scuff plates, and aluminium pedals further set the tone.

The Hyundai Elantra N retains the 10.25-inch full-TFT instrument console from the regular Elantra but gets N-specific gloss black surrounds and display modes here. The 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system is also a part of the driver’s cockpit and is slightly tilted towards the driver’s side. The wraparound lower centre console comprises sleek buttons for the dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless charging pad, and transmission lever. The Elantra N also has heating and electronic adjustments for the front seats, a sunroof, and an 8-speaker BOSE audio system.

The current-generation Hyundai Elantra is already a striking car, and the Elantra N takes the bar of sportiness even higher with its specific add-ons and tweaks. The sharp-looking front fascia has become more aggressive, with an extensive gloss black finish for the wide grille and front bumper, revised housings for the fog lamps, and a new lip spoiler with contrast red accents. The LED headlamps have been retained from the Elantra, though. 

Featuring parametric surfaces from the Elantra sedan, the Hyundai Elantra N gets sportier 19-inch machined alloy wheels with low-profile Michelin tyres and red-coloured side mouldings with engraved N logos. The rear profile has been tweaked, too, with the Hyundai Elantra N having a wing-type gloss black spoiler, N rear bumper with red diffuser, and dual-port exhaust setup while having the striking-looking full-length LED tail lamp. Compared to the regular Elantra, the Hyundai Elantra N also has a rear strut bar with an enhanced body rigidity increase of 29%.

The Macpherson struts at the front and multi-link at the rear of the Hyundai Elantra N are electronically controlled, with the drive modes on offer including Eco, Normal, Sport, and N. For the N mode, there is a specific button on the steering wheel, allowing you to change the steering and suspension feedback for a more specific driving feel. The Hyundai Elantra N also has an electronically limited-slip differential for enhanced cornering speed and reduced understeer. 

The Hyundai Elantra N comes standard with the most powerful version of the brand’s 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which claims a maximum power output of 280 bhp and a peak torque output of 392 Nm. With this engine, the Elantra N can reach a top speed of 250 mph while doing the 0-100 km run in 5.3 seconds.

For the Philippines car market, the Hyundai Elantra N is available only with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which has tech like N Grin shift for a 20-second turbo boost, N PowerShift for a dynamic push feel while upshifting and downshifting and N Track SenseShift for optimal performance during spirited driving. 

The Hyundai Elantra N has a comprehensive Level-2 ADAS suite comprising features like Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Following Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Safe Exit Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist and Parking Distance Warning — Reverse. Other safety features include six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree parking camera, hill hold assist, traction control, and electronic stability control.

The Hyundai Elantra N is keeping Hyundai's lineage of sedans and performance cars alive in the Philippines. Its sporty essence is evident in how it looks inside out and performs on the tarmac, bringing the masses closer to the spirited driving experience the N brand stands for.
