KAIYI X3 Pro

Featuring an all-black theme for its cabin, the Kaiyi X3 Pro also has contrast silver accents on the spokes of the steering wheel, inner door handles, middle layer of the dashboard and surrounds for the AC vents that add a touch of premium appeal to the cabin.

The Kaiyi X3 Pro has a two-spoke multi-functional steering wheel with a wide-looking centre boss, behind which it gets a fully digital, modern-looking 7-inch full-TFT instrument console. A trapezoidal 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system sits at the top of the centre console, with a sleek-looking pair of AC vents and toggle-like switches for the automatic climate control gracing the lower part of the centre console.

The corners of the dashboard of Kaiyi X3 Pro have large-sized vertically aligned hexagonal-shaped AC vents, while the lower centre console here has a wireless charging pad, transmission lever and small storage spaces. The cabin of the X3 Pro also has a front centre armrest, rear AC vents and a 6-speaker audio system. 

Based on the X3, the Kaiyi X3 Pro has entirely different front and rear profiles, which make the compact crossover SUV look much bolder and more aggressive than the former. The bold-looking front profile has a sleek trapezoidal front grille with wing-shaped headlamp housings to its sides. While the grille has a chrome-studded design, the headlamp housings here feature LED projectors with LED DRLs below them.

The front bumper of the Kaiyi X3 Pro also looks different from that of the X3, which here features a massive trapezoidal air dam with tapered lower edges, which also features chrome-studded inserts like those in the main grille above. Save for the new design of the 17-inch machined alloy wheels, the side profile of the X3 Pro is identical to that of the X3, with the compact SUV also having a chrome window waistline and a floating roof design with blacked-out pillars.

The rear profile of the Kaiyi X3 Pro has massive-looking C-shaped LED tail lamps, which are connected by a wide LED light bar and a thin chrome strip above it. The X3 Pro also has faux C-shaped air vents on the rear bumper corners and chrome-finished surrounds for the dual exhaust ports on the corners of the rear bumper moulding.

Along with the engine, the Kaiyi X3 Pro also shares its independent suspension with the E5 sedan, which includes Macpherson struts at the front and multi-link at the rear, the Kaiyi E5. The plush and planted ride quality makes the X3 Pro a comfortable compact vehicle to drive in an urban environment. However, the light steering, which is a boon at low urban speeds, doesn’t feel communicative at higher speeds. 

The Kaiyi X3 Pro shares its 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with the E5 premium compact sedan, which supplies power to the front wheels via a 9-speed CVT gearbox, also shared with the E5. With a maximum power output of 156 bhp and peak torque output of 230 Nm, the Kaiyi X3 Pro is one of the most powerful compact crossover SUVs of its size. 

While the Kaiyi X3 Pro skips on ADAS features, the essentials offered in this compact crossover SUV include front and side airbags, reverse parking sensors, electronic parking brake, ABS with EBD and brake assist, electronic stability program with traction control and 360-degree panoramic camera.
