Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class offers a luxurious interior facade with a sporty character. The horizontal structure of the design and the elevated seating position enhances the rugged nature of the car. The cabin is dominated by the outstanding ergonomics and the central media display along with a centre console with clear and defined functional styling. It also offers comfortable and spacious seats with lots of room for individuality. The intelligently crafted dash of this crossover has a well-organised instrument cluster with red highlights to accentuate the sporty element. The GLA class is the first compact SUV from Mercedes-Benz with a blended coupe-like design. It plays a crucial role in the compact premium all road segment with its urban lifestyle design. The dynamic sporty proportions and the striking design in the front match well with the elegant headlamps. The organised bonnet and the radiator grille with two horizontal blades lend a wide appearance to the car. Underneath the grille, a stylised guard is situated with the colour options of silver, high-gloss black and dark chrome colour. The conventional LED light technology are used in the front and rear indicators along with the rear fog lamp and brake lamps. The overall dimensions carried by this luxurious crossover counts to 4417 mm x 1804 mm x 1494 mm (L X W X H) along with wheelbase counting to 2699 mm. To complement this exterior, 17-inch alloy wheels along with 215/60 R17 tires are appointed in this drive.

Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class is offered in three variants: GLA 220 CDI/ 4 MATIC, GLA 250/ 4MATIC and GLA 45 AMG 4MATIC. The variant GLA 220 CDI and GLA 220 4 MATIC come with 2.2-litre engine with a capacity to deliver a maximum power of 168 hp between 3400 and 4000 rpm and a maximum torque of 350 Nm at 1400-3400 rpm. It is offered in front-wheel drive and all wheel drive for 220 CDI and 4 MATIC respectively. On the other hand, the GLA 250 and GLA 250 4MATIC variants are packed with a 2.0-litre engine which delivers a peak power output of 207 hp at 5500 rpm with a peak torque of 350 Nm at 1200-4000 rpm with front wheel drive and permanent all-wheel drive respectively. The third variant GLA 45 AMG 4MATIC delivers 355 hp at 6000 rpm and torque of 450 Nm at 2250-5000 rpm with the permanent all-wheel drive system.

In terms of safety, Mercedes-Benz with Intelligent Drive system helps in analysing the complex situations and recognise the traffic dangers using the sensors positioned all around the vehicle. The attention assist feature, on the other hand, helps in increasing the safety on long drives by analysing typical signs of fatigue and inactiveness issues. Verdict

Not to be called as a proper SUV, GLA offers an aggressive styling and a potent engine with top-notch interior quality. However, the ride quality and transmission system aren't quick as compared with other rivals.
