Ford PH gives us tips on how to drive safe in the rainy season

The rainy season is now well underway, bringing with it muddy highways, puddle-filled roadways, and other situations that can change what you typically experience while driving in good weather. 

Ford Philippines offers these must-check auto parts to make sure your vehicle is ready to bring safe and worry-free wet weather drives. 

Windshield Wiper Blades 

When it rains heavily, your outward vision depends greatly on the quality of the wiper blades on your car. Quickly verify that the wiper blades are still in good condition before leaving — replace these if their rubber is worn out. 

Furthermore, make sure there are no small stones or debris in the wiper blades by wiping them with a wet cloth before you start driving. This lessens the likelihood of any uneven wiper streaks.

Tires

The tires of an automobile are in direct touch with the road, thus it is essential that they have adequate tread to retain grip in slick circumstances. A worn-out tire will be slick, which could cause hydroplaning. Before leaving, perform a quick visual inspection to make sure you can see the tread depth on your tires. 

At Ford dealerships, service technicians will also inspect your tires as part of the periodic maintenance service (PMS) and will let you know if they need to be replaced.

Oil Pan Gaskets 

Although car owners don't frequently notice these pieces, old oil pan gaskets can cause leaks in the engine or transmission oils as well as an opportunity for water to enter these car parts when you drive over puddles or flooded roadways. This can result in car damage. 

When your car is parked, you may quickly check visually to determine if there are any oil leaks. The state of the gaskets is constantly checked by mechanics, who also replace them as necessary.

Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) 

The anti-lock brake system (ABS) prevents wheel lockup during sudden and heavy braking, allowing the driver to guide the car toward safety. Wheel lockups are the last thing you’d want when braking and avoiding an obstacle on wet pavement. 

When the ABS is functioning properly, the car is easy to maneuver, especially when it's raining. Check your instrument cluster before starting your first drive of the day, especially if your car is a Ford that shows an ABS warning light on the dashboard when the system needs maintenance.

In time for the rainy season, Ford Philippines is extending a 10% discount on wiper blades and brake pads for the Everest, Ranger, EcoSport, and Territory.

Covered by this promotion are brake pads and wiper blades of Everest and Ranger (model year 2012 onwards) and EcoSport and Territory (all model years). Customers can avail of this promo until September 30, 2022. 

Ford is also offering an all-in battery package that starts at P6,300, inclusive of parts and labor, with the Focus, Fiesta, EcoSport, Ranger, and Everest. All parts of eligible Ford vehicles covered by this promo automatically come with a 24-month warranty.
