Chevrolet Philippines has decided to launch its subcompact crossover “Trax” in October. The reason behind such a good response is that the automaker manage to gather huge attention during this year's Manila International Auto Show. FYI, it was initially introduced in South Korea and Mexico during 2013, then moved to United States last year, and recently debuted in Indonesia at GIIAS 2015. Now, it will be officially available in Philippines too.

Trax will be made available in two variants only. Both will be powered by 1.4-liter turbo petrol engine which can produce maximum power of 140 hp and a peak torque of 200 Nm, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Thus, making it decent for city and highway drives. The best news for the Filipinos is that Chevrolet Trax will be the first model to offer Chevy's Complete Care Package at no additional cost to buyers.

Ford EcoSport

Ford EcoSport is essentially a premium compact crossover drive which is affordable, dynamic and reliable. It comes with efficient EcoBoost featured engine which is dedicated to deliver better fuel economy and more power than naturally aspirated engine. In Philippines the model is available in three variants, namely, Titanium, Trend and Ambient. The said variants are equipped with 1.5 litre engine capable of generating 108 hp of peak power and a peak torque of 142 Nm at 4500 rpm. Ford Ecosport is seamlessly fast and responsive in its class as it hardly takes 11.6 secs to complete 100 kmph benchmark holding a top speed of 175 kmph. It also offers a decent offers the fuel economy of 15.8 kmpl.

Hyundai i20 Cross Sport

The i20 Cross Sport, Hyundai’s contender in the compact crossover segment, is a combination of the sporty looks of a hatchback and holds extreme capabilities of an SUV. Its large 190 mm ground clearance helps it go smooth along rough surfaces and flood areas. The new i20 cross sport is based on the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 that provides a proper aerodynamic capability.
