2015 Frankfurt Motor Show Preview: AMG GT S Gets Tweaked to 600 PS by Brabus

MANILA: The renowned Mercedes-Benz tuner, Brabus, have tuned Mercedes-AMG GT S. With the Brabus tuning, the standard AMG GT S gets some handling upgrades as well as power boost.

Brabus has tried to re-profile the exteriors that include a new front chin, air outlets for the front fenders, rocker panels, a rear diffuser and a 600 badge on the trunk lid. It gets a new name, Brabus 600 which holds large 21-inch wheel called the Monoblock F. Brabus worked on the interior and gave it a smooth design. The interiors get fitted with fine leather which gives it a classy look. The inlays are made from real carbon fibre and the cockpit gets a wood-like finish.

Additionally, Brabus also trimmed the doors side which include the door sill kick plate, the pedals and the floor mats. Actually, the interior seems like a mixture of Mercedes-AMG and Brabus badging. The Affalterbach seal has been pressed on the centre arm rest upholstered with leather.

Brabus also tuned the performance by making some changes in the adjustable sports suspension and ride height. The sports exhaust system is made from lightweight titanium with electronically controlled sound management. The company developed the PowerXtra B40 - 600 Engine Control Unit especially for the Brabus 600. AMG GT S gets an in-built plug-and-play control module which is equipped with special performance chip. It also features new mapping for injection and ignition which helps in increasing boost pressure.

The special performance chip increases the power output by 90 PS and a torque increase of 100 Nm. The result is 600 PS and 750 Nm of torque. Brabus claims that the 600 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds and can attain a top speed of 325 km/h.
