2016 Volkswagen Touran receives tweaks inside-out Via R-Line Package

MANILA: The Volkswagen Touran has received some tweaks in interior and exterior making it look sportier and upmarket. According to the German automaker, the R-Line package gives Touran a sporty and dynamic appearance.

Compared to the standard Touran, the R-Line version comes with re-profiled bumpers, body-coloured air intakes and glossy black finish. The MPV also gets R-Line badging fixed on the radiator grill. Additionally, the front fascia comes with a lip spoiler and the rear gets a diffuser.

The vehicle also comes with dark headlamps and taillights that gives elegant outlook. Along with this, bespoke seat covers and cabin trims for the inside are also included. Inside, the MPV features “race” upholstery along with a titanium black headliner, a leather-wrapped flat-bottomed steering wheel and aluminum pedals.

To the side profile, the vehicle is fitted with a high-gloss black side skirt along with silver anodized roof rails. The Touran R-Line is finished off with 17 and 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels.

Under the hood, the 2016 Touran R-Line gets the same 1.2-litre TSI gasoline engine that delivers maximum power of 110 PS; the 1.4-litre TSI that generates 150 PS of peak power; and the 1.8-litre TSI produces 180 PS of peak power. Another one of the trim is fitted with a 1.6-litre TDI diesel engine that churns out 110 PS of peak power.

The company is aiming high with the changes made to the Touran mentioned above and with this, the scope in the market of alleged vehicle may see a boost in the Philippines.
