2019 Foton Gratour Minivan is here, priced at Php 570,000

MANILA: Irrespective of the changing laws, drifting customer interest, and many other factors, Foton is one brand that has been growing continuously in the Philippines from a couple of years or so. In the Philippines, the Chinese auto giant sells everything from heavy-duty trucks to minivans, MPVs, SUVs, and even pickup trucks. In recent times, Foton Philippines has been quite busy in launching new vehicles as well as opening new dealerships across the country. The newest addition to the Foton’s portfolio in the Philippines is the 2019 Gratour Minivan, which in its latest avatar is both bigger and better than the last-generation model.

Starting off with the appearance of the revisited minivan, the 2019 Foton Gratour Minivan features a pair of upswept headlights that flanks a bolder than before chrome grille. Then there are some extra and more pronounced cuts and creases on the body. A brand new set of 14-inch alloy wheels and revamped taillights complete the minivan’s look. The rear doors are still sliding type and make the ingress/egress a walk in the park.

Moving inside the 2019 Foton Gratour Minivan, the seating capacity has now been increased to eight compared to seven on the last-generation model. While the wheelbase is still at 2,710 mm, Foton has improved the seating capacity by increasing the dimensions of the minivan and introducing a wider bench-seat in the second-row.

The 2019 Foton Gratour Minivan specs sheet reveals a new 1.5-litre engine instead of the 1.2-litre unit that powered the outgoing model. The new powerhouse delivers 114 PS of maximum power and 150 Nm of peak torque. A five-speed manual gearbox then transmits the adequate power to the wheels. The 2019 Foton Gratour Minivan gets an affordable price tag of Php 570,000 and boasts decent safety features like seatbelt reminder, over-speed alarm, and anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution.
