2020 Hyundai ix25 aka next-gen Creta unveiled
MANILA: Didn’t Hyundai just unveil its newest crossover Venue? Well, we believe Hyundai lives by the saying that more is better. And in order to justify it, the South Korean automobile manufacturer has brought out the 2020 ix25.
In the insane SUV and crossover portfolio which already includes the likes of Venue, Kona, Tucson, Santa Fe, and the biggest of the lot Palisade, the 2020 ix25 is set to take its place between Kona and Tucson. Talking more of the ix25, it is basically an updated Creta for the Chinese market and the arrival of this crossover in the Philippines is, highly unlikely.
Size wise, the 2020 Hyundai ix25 is around 100 mm shorter in length when compared with the Kona. Interestingly, the crossover takes a lot of inspiration from the Kona and Venue in terms of its design language.
The Y-shaped grille and two-tier headlamp setup provide the ix25 with the typical & trendy Hyundai flavour. While the ix25 may look like boasting an upright stance, it certainly isn’t as upright as the newly unveiled Venue. Following the trend, the crossover also features a floating roof design thanks to the blacked-out front pillars.
Apart from the looks of this new crossover by Hyundai, we cannot comprehend anything else about the car. This is because Hyundai has not revealed any technical or mechanical details of the 2020 ix25. As mentioned before, the 2020 Hyundai ix25 is for the Chinese market and other countries are very likely to not see the crossover running on their roads.
The availability of Kona in the Philippines further dims the possibilities of the ix25 making its way to the Filipino shores. However, something that’s interesting is that Hyundai Philippines recently sourced the Chinese Reina in the Philippines and if that was the beginning of something, the 2020 Hyundai ix25 may just find itself in the country.
