2023 Hennessey Mammoth TRX packs 1,000hp and overlanding gear

MANILA: The Texas-based high-performance vehicle and hypercar maker Hennessey has unveiled an overlanding update for its 2023 Hennessey Mammoth TRX truck. With the entire package, owners of the most potent pickup truck in the world may travel farther into the wilderness than ever before.

Overlanding is a form of vehicle-based, off-road adventure travel that emphasizes independence, fortitude, and the enjoyment of the journey itself—getting there is half the fun. In light of this, the 2023 Hennessey Mammoth 1000 TRX provides travelers with 1,012-horsepower of 4x4 go-anywhere capability along with everything needed to be comfortable in the distant backcountry.

The specially designed Overland Edition comes with a variety of convenient furnishings for living off of a truck. The sturdy Ram TRX bed rack serves as the system's base, while a quick-to-assemble hard-shell rooftop tent serves as the top layer.

A pressurized water reservoir and an auxiliary fuel tank are put on the rack to extend the vehicle's range and utility, while a retractable 55-inch canopy offers shade and shelter. A 28-inch splitting ax, a shovel, and LED perimeter lighting are additional extras. The tent and equipment are easier to access thanks to grab handles and a retractable staircase.

Professional installation by Hennessey Performance technicians is required for the new Overland Edition, which is available on the Hennessey Mammoth 900' or Mammoth 1000 versions of the RAM TRX. The upgrades can be added to any Mammoth build for $19,950 (P1.143 million).

The company boasts that the fastest and most potent truck in the world is the 2023 Hennessey Mammoth 1000 TRX. Its 6.2-liter "Hellcat" supercharged V8 engine, which has been upgraded with Hennessey's high-flow 2.65L supercharger, larger fuel injectors, and high-flow induction system as well as performance-improving calibration tweaks, is responsible for this performance. A go-anywhere truck is produced as a result of the improvements, with 1,012 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 969 lb-ft of mountainous torque at 4,200 rpm.

Measuring 5.81 meters long, 2.09 meters wide, and 1.97 meters high, the imposing Hennessey supertruck makes an enormous statement on- or off-road. Capable of carrying five adults in first-class comfort and towing more than three tons, the Mammoth 1000 TRX is the most comprehensive and capable performance overlanding truck on the market.

Overlanding customers will typically specify Hennessey's Stage 2 off-road enhancement package for their Ram TRX. This package adds robust custom bumpers, vision-boosting LED lights, a front leveling kit, large 37-inch off-road tires, and upgraded electronic fold-out steps. The 2023 Hennessey Mammoth 1000 TRX Overland with Stage 2 upgrades also benefits from Hennessey's comprehensive three-year / 36,000-mile warranty.

Last year, local Ram distributor Auto Nation Group (ANG) unveiled the Ram 1500 TRX, a special edition of the 1500 full-size pickup truck. Once a model under the Dodge brand, Ram is now a separate make altogether. In its home country of North America, Ram won Truck Of The Year awards in 2019, 2020, and 2021.

Under the hood of the Ram 1500 TRX is a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 Hemi engine. ANG claimed that, thanks to the V8 engine, the TRX is the fastest truck in the world. Otherwise known as the Hellcat engine, it produces 702hp and 881Nm of torque. The truck's zero-to-100kph time is estimated at 4.5 seconds.

The Ram 1500 TRX is made unique by its 18-inch black aluminum wheels, with a rugged fascia that highlights the modern ram's head logo and the flow-through badge lettering.

Other exterior equipment comprise of a full LED Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS), including twin bi-functional projector headlamps, fog lamps, and tail lamps. The truck's hood scoop and front bumper flares also integrate new LED clearance lamps for visibility and aesthetics.

Along with the V8 engine and the eight-speed automatic transmission, the Ram 1500 TRX is supported by a new five-link independent rear suspension system that is tuned to deliver excellent handling and ride comfort, regardless of the road condition.

The suspension also comes with the all-new front and rear 2.6-inch Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shocks, which are made specifically for the TRX. Faster reaction times, exceptional damping, and heat dissipation when traveling at speed through rougher terrain are the benefits brought by the underpinnings.

The rugged appeal of the exterior carries over inside, ANG said. There are carbon fiber accents in all areas of the interior, woven alongside the contrasting red suede-and-leather trimmings on the bucket seats and shift knob.

Meanwhile, the TRX brand logo is embroidered in its signature bright red, right below the headrests of the driver and passenger seats.

In terms of comfort, among those that are standard to the Ram TRX are eight-way power seats for both the driver and passenger, with four-way lumbar adjustment, driver seat memory, and heated / ventilated front and rear seats.

For entertainment and connectivity, the Ram TRX has a built-in 12-inch touchscreen display with UConnect 12.0 navigation, hooked up to a Harman Kardon 19-speaker premium sound system and fully integrated with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

To support the daily activities of a truck owner, the truck is fitted with the following equipment: Multi-function Dampened Tailgate with Remote Release, seven-pin Wiring Harness, E-Locker Rear Axle, Mopar 4 Adjustable Cargo Tie-down Hooks, a deployable Mopar Bed Step, Tow Hooks, Speed-Sensitive Power Locks, and Rain-Sensitive Wipers.
