Auto smorgasbord: Stage is set for physical holding of 2022 MIAS

MANILA: The 2022 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) will be physically staged once again at the World Trade Center, Pasay City, from April 7 to 10. 

Participating car brands will display their vehicles and hold car launches. Other events are in store at the 2022 MIAS, the auto show co-organizer Worldbex Services International announced. 

Guinness World Record holder and precision driver Russ Swift will perform driving stunts, and the 2022 MIAS Classic & Custom Car Competition will be staged. An exhibition for die-cast cars and vehicles from car clubs will also be staged at the event. 

Visitors will also get the opportunity to test drive new cars in the market. 

In 2020, the MIAS was held virtually due to the COVID-19 outbreak. 

MIAS co-organizer Alvin Uy said that for the 2022 MIAS, the event organizers aim to attract a significant number of exhibitors and visitors.

“In 2019, we have over 200 companies who joined — including car manufacturers and distributors," Uy told ZIGWHEELS PHILIPPINES sibling brand Carmudi Philippines. "This year, we hope to achieve at least 80 to 90% of the 2019 figures.

As to the visitors, we had over 142,000 visitors that year. We are targeting at least 70% of it, or about 100,000 visitors,” he added.

Car brands that participated in the 2020 event included Chevrolet, Geely, Hyundai, Jeep, and Subaru, among others.
