BAIC PH rolls out new warranty coverage

MANILA: BAIC Philippines prolonged its warranty coverage for its offerings.

In a statement, the Chinese automaker’s distributor in the country said that the bumper-to-bumper warranty for its vehicles is now five years instead of three while the battery warranty for its electrified lineup has been extended to five years from three years. 

“We understand that switching to new energy is not just about the vehicle in front of you. It is about confidence in the years ahead. That is why every BAIC unit comes backed by an eight year battery warranty and a five year vehicle warranty, that’s our assurance that this decision protects you well after the sale,” BAIC Brand Head Timothy Sytin said.

New warranty coverage

Starting at the fifth UAAGI on the Move roadshow, every BAIC models sold locally are now package with a five-year or 150,000-kilometer general warranty covering core components against manufacturing defects.

Meanwhile, the has given an eight-year or 160,000-kilometer High Voltage Battery Warranty, whichever comes first—considered to be one of the longest battery warranty terms in its class. Per BAIC Philippines, this directly addresses the biggest hesitation among drivers considering the shift to hybrid and electric mobility: uncertainty over battery life and long-term cost.

The two lengthened warranties complement the existing three-year roadside assistance program given to their customers for free. “From a flat tire to a battery concern to a simple tow, help is built into the ownership experience from day one, whether owners are navigating daily traffic or on a long drive outside the city,” the firm shared. 

Further, BAIC's aftersales infrastructure is part 131 dealerships under UAAGI that gives giving owners access to trained technicians, genuine parts, and dedicated service centers across the country.

“Together, the 5-year general warranty, the 8-year battery warranty, 3-year roadside assistance, and an expanding nationwide service network make BAIC's ownership package one of the most comprehensive in the market. It is a standard the brand holds itself to: buying a BAIC is not a single transaction, but the start of an ownership experience the brand stays committed to, across its entire lineup, from everyday city-ready models to rugged, adventure-built vehicles,” BAIC Philippines noted.
