What powers Bentley Flying Spur Speed?
Bentley Flying Spur Speed is powered by a 6.0-liter twin turbocharged W12 engine that produces 635ps of power and 900Nm of torque. What are the 0-100kph acceleration and top speed of Bentley Flying Spur Speed?
Bentley Flying Spur Speed can accelerate from a standstill to 100kph in 3.8 seconds and achieve a top speed of 333kph.The new product portfolio has been designed to give customers a simpler way to pick the best Bentley that meets their needs. Both sides of the portfolio are topped with Mulliner vehicles that blend the best of both worlds, with one side focusing on driver well-being and the other on driving performance.
With the introduction of the Flying Spur Speed, the model lineup is now complete and mirrors the Continental GT and Bentayga range. With the standard Flying Spur W12 discontinuing production last May, the Flying Spur Speed and Flying Spur Mulliner are the vehicles of choice for customers who want a W12-powered Flying Spur.
Bentley Flying Spur Speed is powered by a 6.0-liter twin turbocharged W12 engine that produces 635ps of power and 900Nm of torque. Bentley Flying Spur Speed can accelerate from a standstill to 100kph in 3.8 seconds and achieve a top speed of 333kph.
The W12 engine is mated to an eight-speed ZF dual-clutch transmission that delivers quicker gearshifts, smoother acceleration, and improved fuel economy. Pre-selecting the next gear speeds up gearshifts by reducing the time that torque is transmitted to the wheels, enhancing performance. Sixth gear allows for maximum speed, with seventh and eighth gears being utilized for efficient grand touring.
The clutched system of the Bentley Flying Spur Speed delivers drive to the rear axle. As an active all-wheel drive system, it will then automatically provide drive to the front axle as needed, depending on the driving circumstances and wheel slip. Turn-in response is consequently enhanced. The Bentley Flying Spur's front end feels significantly lighter and can change directions quickly. Fixed all-wheel drive essentially eliminates the understeer effect, which improves the overall balance of the vehicle.
Torque distribution varies depending on the Drive Dynamics Mode that has been chosen. In the Comfort and Bentley modes, the system will transfer up to 480Nm of torque to the front axle to improve grip and maneuverability. In Sport mode, the system maintains a greater torque level at the rear for a sportier feel while restricting the available torque to the front axle to 280Nm. A torque-vectoring-by-brake system is also used to regulate torque across each axle.
The advanced active all-wheel drive, electronic all-wheel steering, and Bentley Dynamic Ride help deliver an exceptional handling ability and balanced dynamic precision.
Electronic all-wheel steering improves maneuverability in urban areas as well as stability on highways. The system guides the rear wheels in the opposite direction from the front wheels during low-speed maneuvers. It shortens the wheelbase, reduces the turning radius, improves agility, and makes parking much easier.
The system guides the rear wheels in the same direction as the front wheels during high-speed maneuvers, improving stability and strengthening the assurance of overtaking and lane changes. Electronic all-wheel steering does not compromise comfort at low speeds and confidence at high speeds.
Bentley's Dynamic Ride System, on the other hand, is designed to enhance comfort and handling. An electronic actuator unit with a 48-volt system handles the anti-roll bar's stiffness, adjusting it as needed to counteract cornering forces and maintain the Bentley Flying Spur's level.
Bentley Flying Spur has 420mm front disc brakes, the largest iron brakes in the world. Bentley logo is present on the Gloss Red front calipers, with a Gloss Black finish available at an additional cost.
The Speed design cues are easily recognizable with dark tint finishes on the front grilles, headlamps, and taillamps, as well as signature Speed insignia on the lower wing. The unique 22-inch Speed wheel is available in Dark Tint, Gloss Black, and Silver-Painted finishes. Gloss Black or Pale Brodgar Satin finishes are now available for a second optional 22-inch sports design wheel. The fuel and filler caps are jeweled. Bentley's Styling Specification and Blackline Specification are also available as options to further enhance the performance-focused look.
The Styling Specification's aesthetics perfectly complement the Bentley Flying Spur Speed's unmatched performance.
After a comprehensive development program, the Styling Specification features a front bumper splitter, side skirts with metallic Bentley logos, a rear diffuser, and a boot lid spoiler that are all expertly hand-crafted in high gloss carbon fiber to precise specifications.
The Blackline Specification, on the other hand, offers a modern alternative in which the majority of the exterior brightwork is swapped out with Blackware, giving the iconic Flying Spur an even more commanding presence.
The exterior brightware included in the Blackline specification are the iconic Flying B mascot, radiator vanes, matrix grilles, side window surrounds, lower door and rear bumper blades. The same distinctive, darker treatment is applied to the door handles, wing vents, exhaust outlets, and light bezels on the front and rear of the vehicle.
On the inside, there is a new, unique color scheme with the use of Dinamica to all occupant touch points, offering an unparalleled blend of luxury. Bentley uses Dinamica Pure, which differs from the standard Dinamica as it comprises 73% recycled polyester. With Piano Black veneer as standard and Crown Cut Walnut, Dark Stained Burr Walnut, and Dark Fiddleback Eucalyptus as additional no-cost options, the interior color selection expands from five to 15 leather colors.
New performance infotainment graphics inspired by luxury chronographs can be seen in the driver's information panel. The standard front and rear seat comfort specifications include 24-way front seat adjustment and 14-way rear seat adjustment. Every seat has two memory positions, heating, ventilation, and massage. Other interior features include sports pedals, Speed fascia badges, and illuminated Speed inner and outer treadplates.
Bentley Flying Spur Speed is most likely to be popular in the United States and Europe, with a projected uptake of almost a third of Flying Spur orders. The Middle East follows with an anticipated uptake of one Speed in five Flying Spur orders.
