Bentley to unveil concept car with ‘new emblem’

MANILA: Bentley will present a concept car tomorrow (July 8), coinciding with the opening of a new design studio at the luxury carmaker’s home in Crewe, England.

While Bentley is tight-lipped about the details of the concept, the company spilled that the show vehicle will wear a new “Bentley Wings” logo. This emblem not only heralds the arrival of its new prototype but also is a first step in a design and brand revolution.

“The new ‘Winged B’ is just the fifth iteration in our 106-year history and will be previewed with the reveal of a future vision concept car…” the company wrote in a press release.

According to Bentley, the original Winged B was created by F. Gordon Crosby sometime in 1919. While the logo saw changes in 1931, the 1990s, and 2002, the new 2025 update is the biggest transformation to the instantly recognizable mark in more than a century of history.

It was created in-house by Bentley’s design team under the watchful eye of Director of Design Robin Page. The new Winged B is the first step of the next chapter for the Bentley brand and its DNA.

“Crafted with confidence, care, and creativity, the new logo is symbolic of an exciting future for Bentley,” the marque noted.

Old vs. new logo

Compared to older iterations (a sample of which is shown below), the wings look more three-dimensional, resembling somewhat the facets of a highly polished gem.

Likewise, it appears to have lost its tail, but retains the bold “B” letter that somehow looks like it is surrounded by a shiny silver bezel, in a fashion close to classic timepieces. Its new wings also share the same border design.

Further, a video clip on the brand’s website and on its official Youtube channel (you can check it out below) shows that the new emblem illuminates along with what we believe is a new grille. 

While it will make its debut tomorrow on the highly anticipated concept car, it is expected that the said emblem will be slapped on future models.
