Bentley dresses up Bentayga in bespoke pink hue

MANILA: Through its Mulliner customization arm, Bentley Motors has dressed up a Bentayga sport utility vehicle (SUV) in a bespoke pink color. 

According to the British luxury carmaker, one of its American clients requested a precise shade of pink to be used in her new automobile. The team commissioned a bold and vibrant shade of the said hue, aptly named Candy Pink. 

The exterior is matched with a cabin finished with Cherry Blossom trims, alongside other opulent appointments. 

“The Bentayga is an example of the growing trend among Bentley customers for personal commissions, with 70 percent specifying at least one Mulliner feature in their car, and a clear result of the free choice that a Mulliner commission provides,” Bentley Motors wrote in a press release. 

Pretty in pink

According to the Crewe-headquartered marque, the customer who ordered the said custom pink Bentayga already owns a number of Bentleys. 

Per Bentley Motors, the company offers some 111 exterior paint options, which includes solid, metallic, pearlescent, and satin hues. While pinks are considered an exception, the customer’s vision was made possible thanks to the Muliiner team’s expertise. 

The Bentley Bentayga of choice was the extended wheelbase (EWB) Azure variant in the popular Blackline Specification. On that note, it featured — providing some contrast from the hot Candy Pink color — gloss black door handles, exhaust pipes, trims surrounding the illumination system, matrix and lower grilles, roof rails, and wing vents. 

It rides on 22-inch painted wheels and is fitted with a tinted rear privacy glass, complementing what Bentley Motors described as a “dramatic exterior look.” 

Bentley Motors stated that a Bentayga EWB takes 132 hours to manufacture, of which some 24 hours are required to paint the body. Production of the trim panels and wood set for the cabin takes 18 hours more. 

Speaking of which, the cabin of the Candy Pink-finished Bentley Bentayga EWB Azure gets the aforementioned Cherry Blossom leather. The said upholstery is applied to the luxury SUV’s seats, center console, doors, gear lever, and steering wheel. 

Bespoke piping on the Cherry Blossom hides extend to the embroidered Bentley Wings on the seats. 

Cherry Blossom leather is also applied to edging of the 100-percent pure wool deep-pile floor mats. The carmaker stated that a specially-selected wool variety was used in the matting due to its cleanliness and purity of color. 

Other posh features 

For when the customer wants to be driven, her Bentley Bentayga EWB Azure comes with the Airline Seat package, which the company claims to be “the most advanced seat ever fitted to a car.” 

It has 22 seat settings as well as an auto climate sensing system and postural adjustment technology. The said system, Bentley Motors noted, can apply 177 individual pressure changes across six fully independent pressure zones over a three-hour period to improve comfort and minimize fatigue of its occupants. 

Housed between the rear seats is the Mulliner Bottle Cooler, which provides a fully-integrated drinks cooler for a 750 milliliter bottle, with a frosted glass soft close door and two bespoke handcrafted Cumbria Crystal flutes. 

Further enhancing her rear cabin experience is a rear seat entertainment unit and a “Bang & Olufsen for Bentley” sound system. The speakers are finished in aluminum with holes drilled in variable sizes and angles and shaped to a uniquely designed Fibonacci hole pattern. 

Bentley Motors further explained that the angled holes are placed as tightly as possible to achieve the best acoustic transparency and to build a contrast to the glass-blasted surface. 

Powertrain 

While the powertrain specifications of the bespoke Candy Pink Bentayga EWB Azure was not shared, the luxury SUV is known to make the following figures:

Downright delighted 

Per Bentley, its American customer is said to be delighted with her purchase. Bentley Palmyra’s Rich Pepe said: “It was great collaborating with Mulliner and I look forward to commissioning the next truly bespoke Bentley.”
