Bike and e-scooter sharing app Moovr PH debuts in BGC

MANILA: Bike and e-scooter sharing app Moovr PH started its operation in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig this month.

As the first-ever bike and e-scooter sharing platform in the country, Moovr PH collaborated with BGC management to provide convenient, safe, and sustainable mobility that can help in minimizing the traffic congestion in the area.

BGC has provided designated lanes for personal mobility devices (PMD) so e-scooter riders can enjoy safe travel within the district.

Moovr was developed to allow Filipinos to experience outdoor activities while complying with the physical distancing rule. Moovr users can choose between two PMD options: a single-gear bike and a user-friendly electronic scooter. Moovr guarantees that all vehicles and devices are frequently disinfected.

In order to use the platform, the Moovr PH mobile app must be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Upon registering on the app, the user can go to the nearest Moovr Hub. All hubs are strategically located around BGC. From there, the user can select his preferred vehicle which will be unlocked by scanning the QR code. All users are required to bring their own personal helmet.

The PMD rental is good for 24 hours. If the e-scooter’s battery percentage reaches below 15%  the device must be returned for recharging.

To end the rental, the customer will need to return and lock in the vehicle at any Moovr Hub around BGC and end the ride through the app.

All Moovr transactions are cashless. Users can cash in their Moovr credits through credit or debit cards. Moovr rates for bikes start at P15 for every 15 minutes. Meanwhile, e-scooter rental has a standard rate of P50 for every 20 minutes.

With this innovative concept, Moovr PH aims to promote sustainability by using bikes and electronic scooters which emit lesser carbon compared to standard cars. The company is planning to expand operations to more locations in Metro Manila.
