MANILA: Hyundai Motor Company has launched its Ioniq sub-brand at the Auto China 2026. This was headlined by the debut of the Ioniq V, produced in collaboration with the brand’s local partner, Beijing Automotive Group (BAIC).

Hyundai Ioniq V: vehicle specifications
The all-new Hyundai Ioniq V is a liftback sedan and should not be confused with the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which is a crossover. Its rivals in China include the BYD Seal and the Tesla Model 3.
Photo from HyundaiAs of its launch, Hyundai’s Chinese arm has yet to disclose the full details of the Ioniq V’s mechanical bits. However, the brand shared that it has a range of over 600 kilometers, as determined by the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC).
Appearance-wise, the Ioniq V has a wedge-shaped front end. Its rear section, on the other hand, comes with a liftback design. This is coupled by hidden door handles, slit-thin LED lighting fixtures, floating side mirrors, and a sloped roofline.
Hyundai has described the Ioniq V’s appearance as the “single-curve silhouette,” and all of its design characteristics are touted to aid the model in terms of aerodynamics.

Inside the vehicle is a tech-rich cabin equipped with a sizeable 27-inch ultra-thin 4K panoramic display. This massive screen handles both infotainment and digital gauge-cluster duties, though a head-up display is also available.
