BOC to auction luxury vehicles seized from Discayas

MANILA: The Bureau of Customs (BOC) will auction off seven luxury vehicles seized from the Discaya family last month. 

Of note, the Discayas are tied to the controversial ghost flood control projects involving various politicians and contractors. 

Per the agency, the automobiles to go under the hammer are the following: 

• Toyota Tundra (2022)
• Toyota Sequoia (2023)
• Rolls-Royce Cullinan (2023)
• Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG (2022)
• Mercedes-Benz G500 (2019, Brabus)
• Lincoln Navigator L (2021)
• Bentley Bentayga (2022)

According to the BOC, the auction will take place on November 17, at the bureau’s OCOM (Office of the Commissioner) Building inside the Situation Room, in Manila.

Interested bidders can attend a public viewing, which will be held from November 10-12 at the PUC Parking Area inside the OCOM Grounds.

For reference, here are the floor prices of the units:

Where the proceeds will go was not disclosed. 

In a previous report, the agency has secured 28 vehicles linked to the infamous contractors. It was noted that the lot is under the care of the Philippine Coast Guard’s watchful agents.
