BYD Cars PH triathletes complete Ironman 70.3 Davao

MANILA: The BYD Cars Philippines-backed triathletes have completed their run in the recently held Ironman 70.3 Davao.

Per the Ayala-managed wing of the Chinese new-energy vehicle manufacturer, both its celebrity and corporate triathlon teams delivered impressive finishes in one of the country’s premier endurance events. 

Celebrity triathletes — Wil Dasovich (Swim), Alden Richards (Bike), and Nico Bolzico (Run) — secured a “Top 8” finish out of 32 teams in the Male Relay Category.

“This performance capped off an impressive week for the team, as Wil arrived in Davao via the ‘Drive Electric. Love Pinas.’ route, a cross-country journey powered by BYD and ACMobility in partnership with the Department of Tourism to promote electrification throughout the Philippines,” the company pointed out in a press release.

On the other hand, its pro-triathlete team — composed of two-time Olympic Swimmer, Jasmine Alkhaldi; endurance athlete and the first Filipina to conquer the Worldman Championships, Jennifer Uy; and seasoned international triathlete, Jens Jacobsen — also won a “Top 8” finish of 34 teams in their division.

According to BYD Cars Philippines, its partnership with Ironman 70.3 Davao highlights the brand’s commitment to endurance, performance, and innovation. The move — the company explained — demonstrates how sustainable mobility can meet the highest standards while supporting athletes’ journeys.
