Chery Group breaches 1-M sales mark in H1 2024

MANILA: Chery Group has achieved a global sales figure of 1,100,621 units for the first half of 2024. 

According to the Chinese automotive conglomerate, it is the first time it has surpassed the one million vehicle mark in a half-year period. As per Chery Group, the sales figure for the period in question represents a 48.4 percent year-on-year growth. 

For the first half of the year, 706,767 units of the Chery car brand alone were sold worldwide, equivalent to a 41.9 percent year-on-year increase, according to the Anhui-headquartered company. 

For the unaware, the Chery Group has several car brands under its wing. Besides Chery, it owns Exeed, Luxeed, Jetour, iCar, Karry, Omoda, and Jaecoo, among others. 

In addition to its sales achievement for the first six months of 2024, the company also claimed to have achieved a global user base count exceeding 14 million. 

Apart from its sales achievements for the first half of 2024, Chery Group also conducted the roll-off ceremony of its one-millionth Tiggo 2 vehicle in Wuhu, China. As the automotive manufacturer stated, the event is a testament to the model’s worldwide recognition and the company’s excellence in production capacity. 

Other recent achievements highlighted by the manufacturer include its seventh consecutive top ranking in the automotive category of Google X Kantar BrandZ Top 50 Chinese Global Brand Builders for 2024. 

The Chery Group also touted the signing of a letter of intent together with Jaguar Land Rover for an innovative partnership and the five-star rating bestowed on the Tiggo 8 Pro Max by the Australian New Car Assessment Program.
