Chevrolet clinches 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Manufacturer Championship

MANILA: Chevrolet bagged the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Manufacturer Championship after winning the Round of Eight elimination race at Martinsville Speedway in the United States.

In 1958, Chevrolet earned its first manufacturer championship in the NASCAR Cup Series. From 2003 to 2015, the company won 13 consecutive championships. Aside from its 42 manufacturer championships, Chevrolet has also accumulated 851 wins and 33 driver championships in NASCAR’s premier series.
The recent victory completes Chevrolet’s title sweep in the NASCAR national rankings, as it has also won the 11th NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Manufacturer Championship and 25th Bill France Performance Cup in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Homestead-Miami Speedway. This is the fifth time that Chevrolet has won the manufacturer championship titles in all three of the NASCAR National series. The company has also done so in 1996, 1998, 2005, and 2012.

“Chevrolet is honored to win the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Manufacturer Championship for the third consecutive year and the 42nd time overall. This title is the result of great teamwork by the Chevrolet drivers, crew chiefs, and teams working tirelessly throughout the season,” General Motors (GM) Vice President of Performance and Motorsports Jim Campbell said.
The 2023 season of the NASCAR Cup Series commenced with the Camaro ZL1 making four successive wins. Seven drivers from five different Chevrolet teams have earned a total of 18 wins in 35 races, all adding points to the total that led to the championship.

“Winning the Manufacturer Championship in the NASCAR Cup Series is a remarkable achievement. We are very proud of the dedication and cooperation among Chevrolet’s teams and engineers, and their efforts all season long paid off with this special honor,” GM Racing Program Manager for the NASCAR Cup Series Megan Brobeck stated.
