Davao sees the arrival of 2020 Isuzu D-Max LS-A

MANILA: From September 20 to 22, 2019, Isuzu organised the Mindanao leg of Isuzu's Tough Enough for Anything 4x4 challenge at SM Lanang in Davao City. Following Luzon and Visayas, the event in Mindanao saw the launch of the 2020 Isuzu D-Max LS-A. Moreover, it was not only the launch of the pickup but also a fun-filled three-day off-roading event that gave an opportunity to test out the newest iteration of the ever so popular Japanese pickup truck. Alongside the launch and the off-roading drives, Isuzu also handed over the keys of the first few 2020 D-Max LS-A to the customers.

In terms of the looks, the updated 2020 Isuzu D-Max LS-A sports a revamped front fascia that incorporates less chrome and more grey elements. The upswept Bi-LED projector headlamps with built-in LED DRLs flank a large grey grille. A redesigned bumper fitted with a steel skid plate not only provides the pickup with a rugged look but also enhances protection. Unlike before, the lip mouldings on the fenders on the updated model now feature a matte finish. Other changes include large 18-inch alloy wheels, side mirror caps and roof rails with grey finish, cargo bed extenders, and other new features.

For better off-road performance, the ground clearance has also gone up by 65 mm. Under the hood of the 2020 Isuzu D-Max LS-A is the 4JJ1-TCX four-cylinder with turbo intercooler diesel-fed engine that makes 177 PS of maximum power at 3,600 rpm and a peak torque of 380 Nm from 1,800 to 2,800 revs. Customers get the liberty of choosing either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.

The safety equipment on the 2020 Isuzu D-Max LS-A includes dual SRS airbags for driver and passenger, ABS with EBD & BA, brake override system, electronic stability control, traction control system, hill start assist, hill descent control, and rear parking sensors with a camera.
