Dongfeng Nissan brings out N6; to be sold in China by yearend

MANILA: The joint venture between Dongfeng Motor Group and Nissan Motors has just revealed the N6.

In a statement, the DOngfeng Nissan noted that the newly-unveiled model — the co-operation's first-ever plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) in sedan form — is scheduled to go on sale in China by the end of 2025.

“Under our Re:Nissan plan, we are redefining what Nissan delivers today and beyond. It’s about strengthening our core, reigniting Nissan’s heartbeat, and creating products that inspire excitement and trust. It is about a sharper, more focused product strategy, a stronger brand, and a renewed commitment to our customers," Nissan President and Chief Executive Officer Ivan Espinosa was quoted as saying.

"Integral to this transformation is China—an essential market whose speed, technological leadership, and customer insights are setting the pace for the global auto industry,” he added.

Here are some notable pieces of facts about the Dongfeng Nissan N6.

Vehicle specifications

Built on Dongfeng Nissan’s new energy technology architecture, the N6 measures:

Overall dimensions (length, width, height; in millimeters [mm>)	4,831 x 1,885 x 1,491
Wheelbase (in mm)	2,815

Its exterior design comes with the signature V-Motion signature grille — complemented by LED illumination for the front and rear. Subtle organic lines and the hidden door handles give the car a dynamic and modern appeal.

Since it is a PHEV, the Dongfeng N6 runs on a 1.5-liter gasoline engine mated to an electric motor with a 21.1-kilowatt-hour lithium-iron phosphate battery.

Additionally, Nissan said that the N6 carries similar technologies found on its pure-electric sibling, the N7. Further details about the N6 will be shared in the coming weeks.

‘Refreshed’ China-spec Teana unveiled

Sharing the spotlight with the N6 is the New Teana.

The nameplate’s newest iteration comes with a spruced-up look and extended technologies while keeping the same premium comfort and luxury that is known for there.

Outside the Teana are sharp, elegant lines that express a premium and sophisticated look.

On the other hand, its cabin has been fitted with the new Huawei HarmonySpace5.0 smart cockpit, complemented by a new Huawei ‘SOUND’ audio system — making it the first internal combustion engine vehicle in China equipped with Huawei’s HarmonySpace5.0 smart cockpit.

Relatedly, Espinosa said that the “joint venture with Dongfeng allowed them to localize products, accelerate innovation, and meet the unique needs of Chinese customers. “Our teams in China are accelerating electrification, expanding our NEV portfolio, and helping position China as a key pillar in Nissan’s global strategy. The progress is visible— China is contributing meaningfully to new energy vehicle development and is set for future export growth. Together we are shaping the future of mobility,” he explained.
