EV Groups Back ASEAN Leaders’ Declaration on Developing Regional EV Ecosystem

MANILA: The ASEAN Federation of Electric Vehicle Associations (AFEVA) expressed its support for the ASEAN Leaders’ Declaration on Developing the Regional Electric Vehicle Ecosystem.

This declaration by the leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is a stepping stone in the acceleration of electric vehicle adoption in the region.

AFEVA acknowledges the significant role that electric vehicles play in promoting clean mobility solutions. Its support to the ASEAN Leaders’ Declaration intends to fortify partnership among ASEAN countries in creating a comprehensive electric vehicle ecosystem that is backed by innovation and investment.

The ASEAN Leaders’ Declaration on Developing the Regional Electric Vehicle Ecosystem highlights key strategies for the advancement of sustainable transportation in the region. Among these strategies are promoting the development of charging infrastructure, enhancing research and development, encouraging harmonization of policies and regulations, and facilitating industry collaboration and investment.

AFEVA will be sharing its expertise and launching advocacy programs to contribute to the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem that addresses the environmental challenges in the ASEAN region.

This year, each member of AFEVA will organize a series of electric vehicle seminars and exhibitions, including the Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit on October 19 to 21.
