Ferrari California T Recall Over Ill-Manufactured Fuel Pipe Issue

MANILA:  Ferrari California T Recall is issued in North America and this recent update adds to a total of two times when the said car has been recalled by the company. The only twist in the story is that this time it is called back over a different issue then the Takata one earlier.

The year 2015 bought many ups and downs for the auto-industry wherein Takata and VW diesel gate scandal remained the major headline makers, for all the bad reasons, of course. Though, the diesel gate scandal restricted itself to Volkswagen cars only, it was the Takata disease that proved to be the major epidemic. Takata designed faulty airbags are used by a number of mass automakers who have now discontinued their ties with it including some elite ones like Ferrari.

Only a few months back, Ferrari recalled as many as 814 cars from all over North America that were fitted with faulty airbags. The cars included in the Ferrari Takata Recall were 458 Italia, 458 Spider, 458 Speciale, 458 Speciale A, the California T, FF, F12 Berlinetta and LaFerrari hypercar. The Ferrari 488 GTB that has been recently launched in the Philippines skipped the list and came out clean.

As for the present time, Ferrari North America Recall is restricted to California T. This time, it is about a fuel pipe manufacturing defect that has caused the Ferrari California T Recall. To be specific, the car features a low fuel line that may cause the fuel to go inside the engine bay during fuel-up.

Over the time, as many as 185 cars have been recalled that are on the high risk to catch fire. This latest Ferrari Recall targets California T models manufactured between 8th September 2015 and 11th November 2015.

As per National Highway Traffic Safety Administration guidelines, Ferrari is issuing a notice to respective owners and promises to replace the ill-manufactured fuel pipe free of cost.
