Flying Spur Hybrid is most efficient Bentley ever

MANILA: The new Flying Spur Hybrid, Bentley's second electric grand tourer, has been recognized as the most efficient and economical Bentley ever. With WLTP certification and Type Approval, the Flying Spur Hybrid emits only 75 grams of CO2 per kilometer.

Bentley's commitment to becoming an end-to-end carbon-neutral company and the world's top sustainable luxury mobility brand is underscored by the arrival of the Flying Spur Hybrid. The Flying Spur Hybrid is now available to order in the United Kingdom and Europe, with other countries to follow soon. By 2024, every Bentley model will have a hybrid variant. The first Bentley battery electric vehicle (BEV) will be released in 2025 and the company will be offering an entirely BEV-only model selection by 2030.

The Flying Spur proves that hybridization does not have to sacrifice luxury or performance. Whatever driving mode or style, refined serenity is offered, thanks to the imperceptible mix of an internal combustion engine and an electric motor.

The combination of an efficient engine and an innovative e-motor provides the same flexibility and practicality as today's W12 and V8 powertrains, resulting in a dynamic, exhilarating, and finely tuned driving experience.

The new powertrain combines a 2.9-liter V6 petrol engine with an innovative electric motor to produce a total of 536bhp and 750Nm of torque. With a range of over 800 kilometers when fully charged, the new Flying Spur is the most efficient Bentley ever.

With massive power reserves, greater torque, and fast throttle response, the new hybrid model outperforms the Flying Spur V8, reaching zero to 100kph in 4.3 seconds. The new powertrain reduces fuel consumption significantly while maintaining the iconic Bentley character of smooth, precise performance.

The E-motor is powered by an 18kWh lithium ion battery that can be fully charged in about two and a half hours. The power electronics use the energy stored in the high-voltage battery to power the E-Motor or complement the vehicle's standard 12V electrical system.

Bentley's expertise in designing a modern cabin of unrivaled luxury and innovation is showcased within the Flying Spur. Using the extensive specification offering, customers can select among 15 leather colors (five standard and 10 optional) and eight veneers. Stitching and emblems, as well as contrast piping on the seat covers, can be customized in blind or contrast colors, evoking the original Flying Spur from the 1950s.

Building on the brand’s heritage, Bentley's craftsmanship continues to grow, with modern elements like 3D leather door panels and lofted diamond quilting on the seats (included in the Mulliner Driving Specification).

Customers can also choose from an expanded paint selection of over 60 exterior colors, including Mulliner and personal commission options. The blackline specification includes a dark version of the optional illuminated electric Flying B as well as a modern alternative to exterior brightware.
