Geely Coolray Sport Limited touts variant-exclusive equipment

MANILA: Geely Philippines boasted that it has made its best-selling Coolray even cooler with the introduction of the Coolray Sport Limited. At P1.218 million, the new Coolray variant sports three crucial variant-exclusive features. 

It has 18-inch black turbine-inspired wheels, which complement the black roof fitted with panoramic sunroof, and carbon fiber trims around the car. 

At the rear, the new Coolray Sport Limited carries a powered tailgate with a height memory feature. By pressing the trunk release button at the rear trunk door or at the key fob, the trunk door will automatically open. The tailgate will automatically close as well. 

Inside, Geely considers that the Sport Limited's leather seats can absorb heat during hot weather, so the crossover is fitted with ventilated front seats. The seats have three settings of coolness, which can be independently adjusted to the driver or passenger’s liking.

Meanwhile, the equipment shared across the lineup include a seven-inch LED Instrument panel display, three driving modes (Comfort, Eco, and Sport), and a 10.25-inch Multimedia Touch screen with QD link Android connectivity function. 

The crossovers' Auto Parking Assist system assists the driver during parallel and perpendicular parking, using four cameras to give a 360-degree view of the car. Other convenience features include a tire pressure monitoring system, and remote engine and air-conditioner start. 

For safety, the Coolray uses Blind Spot Detection system, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake distribution system,  Brake Assist, Electronic Stability and Traction Control, and Hill Start assist. 

Geely said the Coolray is the first SUV built on the B-segment Modular Architecture (BMA). This BMA platform was developed in partnership with Volvo, with the assistance of 100 modular architecture experts from over 20 countries. BMA exceeds the criteria for a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating.

The Geely Coolray Sport Limited will  be limited to 1,000 examples in the country.
