Grab PH introduces new features for drivers to complete more bookings

MANILA: Grab has launched two new features on its driver app as part of its commitment to help its drivers earn more.

The Sessions and Personalized Alerts features were developed to reduce the idle time of the drivers and give them more time to make bookings while using the app.

“Our partners drive to earn and support their families. We understand how every minute online is a potential income opportunity for them and as the nation faces economic headwinds such as the rising prices of goods, we want to support our partners to maximize their time and earnings. With our technology, we are able to help them reduce idle time on the road, and also enable them to focus their energies on completing trips,” Grab Philippines Chief Operating Officer Ronald Roda stated.

“In 2022, Grab driver-partners from across Southeast Asia enjoyed a 3.55-percent reduction in average idle time, compared to that in 2021, helping to further optimize their earnings potential on the platform,” he added.

The Session feature allows Grab drivers to stay within a particular area when there is high demand for passengers. Drivers may sign up in advance to drive in one of these areas for a set amount of time, allowing them to accept bookings in that area only. This feature will help the drivers to make more short-distance trips per online hour.

On the other hand, Personalized Alerts are push notifications sent to Grab drivers when they are offline, letting them know when there is high demand for passengers in a specific area. These notifications are sent to drivers who frequently visit the same areas based on their driving history.

These two new features add to the wide range of innovations that give Grab drivers a seamless driving experience. With features like Back-to-Back Bookings, Auto Accept, Allocation Swaps, GrabMaps, Share Live Location, My Destination, Automated Toll, and cashless payment options, Grab drivers can ensure good service to passengers.
