Toyota Motor PH identifies 2026 TGR Asia eSports GT Championships-bound racers

MANILA: Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines has named the three members of the team that will represent the country at the 2026 Toyota Gazoo Racing Asia eSports GT Championships in Bangkok, Thailand. 

These are Michael Velasquez, Enzo Ison, and Russel Reyes. Notably, these three are the top three scoring competitors at the final leg of the recently concluded 2026 Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine eSports GT Championships.

Velasquez and Reyes were the top two scorers in the Sporting category of the said competition, with 93.5 and 130.5 points, respectively. Ison, on the other hand, is the top scorer in the Junior categories with 130.5 points under his belt. 

During the final leg of the Philippine round of the tournament, which was held in the digital confines of the Gran Turismo 7 Sony PlayStation simulation racing game, it saw heart-pumping racing action from all participants. 

For both classes, they duked it out in neck-to-neck duels in the quick but suspenseful circuit racing runs on the digital recreations of the US-based Laguna Seca and Autódromo de Interlagos. The two classes also went through a lengthy but action-filled endurance race at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

Gran Turismo 7 cars used for the 2026 Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine eSports GT Championships include the Toyota GR 86, the GR Supra, the Toyota GR Corolla Morizo Edition, and the Toyota GR010 Hybrid Le Mans Hypercar.

The 2026 Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Asia Esports GT Championship regional finals will kick off from November 14-15, 2026, at the Toyota Alive Space in Bangkok, Thailand. 

At the regional finals, the Philippine Team will face eSports racers from other ASEAN neighbors, including Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia.
