Grab PH to ease transition to digital payments through 'Cash In with Driver'
MANILA: As the public transportation sector makes an effort to implement cashless transactions in light of curbing viral transmission, several Filipinos still need help in completely embracing this approach for their daily commute.
Thus, Grab Philippines, the country leading ride-hailing platform, presents a solution to deal with this concern.
In a virtual presser held today, Grab Philippines announced that an updated version of the Grab app, the "Cash In with Driver" feature, will be rolled out by November 2020.
The Cash In with Driver feature enables cash-paying commuters to take advantage of reliable and safe GrabCar services through the activation of their GrabPay wallets during the ride, cash payments to the drivers at the end of the trip (for first-time users), and getting their change credited to their respective GrabPay wallets.
With GrabCar drivers encouraging the cashless approach through this feature, cash-paying commuters can transition with ease toward cashless transactions and be able to get the benefits that GrabPay provides such as safety, convenience, access, and perks.
Commuters can also redeem their GrabRewards points so that they can save on Grab transactions.
Aside from this, GrabPay also offers exclusive promotions and deals, making cashless payments smoother and safer across a wide range of GrabPay acceptance partners.
Aside from cashing in through 7/11 convenience stores, GrabPay wallet or through a GrabCar driver (only for those who will be cashing in for the first time), Grab Philippines said that commuters can also cash in via Instapay (from bank to GrabPay) or direct bank transfer.
Grab Philippines Head of Transport and Shared Services Ronald Roda said, “With many of our kababayans required to physically be present in their workspaces and offices, transportation remains key in effectively driving safe and sustainable economic recovery for our communities and our country. Through this innovation, we hope to help ease the cashless barrier for our commuters by enjoining our driver-partners to not only provide a safe and reliable means of transportation, but to also help more Filipino commuters embrace cashless payment, and unlock the many benefits that await them with GrabPay.”
The Cash In with Driver feature will be available for the GrabBayanihan Car, GrabCar (two-seater and four-seater) in Metro Manila, GrabCar (two-seater only) in Cebu and Pampanga, and soon on GrabTaxi.
Grab Philippines also said that it will also roll out the OneGrab G! Pass, which is a subscription service that provides access to exclusive discounts and deals in delivery and other GrabCar services, soon.
