MMDA to lift number coding scheme for X-Mas, New Year holidays

MANILA: The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) shall suspend the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program — commonly called number coding or color coding — in line with the upcoming holidays.

Based on its latest announcement, the agency will lift the aforementioned traffic-mitigation scheme starting tomorrow (December 23) up to December 25 (Christmas Day) and from December 29 all the way to January 2, 2026.

In its social media post, the MMDA explained that the number coding scheme is automatically suspended during regular and special non-working holidays.

Meanwhile, the agency is implementing the same for December 29 and January 2, 2026 (which are not declared as holidays) in line with the Memorandum Circular 111 from the Office of the President.
