MANILA: The next-generation Toyota Tamaraw has been made versatile to cater to the varying operational needs of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME).

As seen in its display at the ongoing 2025 Asia Food Expo (AFEX), the nameplate can be configured in the following options:

• Tamaraw GL Dropside long wheelbase
• Tamaraw Utility Van 
• Tamaraw Food Truck

First off, the Toyota Tamaraw GL Dropside AT can fill in the role of a logistics solution for businesses. It is equipped with a generously spacious bed and a payload capacity of up to 1,025 kilograms. Moreover, the GL Dropside AT is also perfect for hobbyists and enthusiasts who like to modify their cars.  

The Tamaraw Utility Van, on the other hand, can function as an enterprise’s people carrier. It features face-to-face “jeepney style” seats, accommodating up to twelve passengers (plus two in the front cab), making it ideal for transporting personnel, particularly for businesses with multiple locations. In addition to people hauling, the Tamaraw Utility Van can also function as a covered delivery van, as its seats come with a folding function. 

The star of the show, however, is the Toyota Tamaraw Food Truck, which, per its name, is equipped with a rear square-shaped cab with a well-arranged space for one or two workers, several storage cabinets, and even cooking implements. The aforementioned is a full-spectrum initiative that is capable of providing the proper logistics solutions for local entities, organizations, and MSMEs.

On that note, Tamaraw units built under the Toyota Mobility Solutions follow stringent standards that ensure their durability and long-term usability. 

In addition, the Toyota Tamaraw is covered by a 36-month or 100,000-kilometer vehicle warranty, whichever comes first. Plus, the model can be covered with a Toyota Insure package, which can be customized by buyers. When it comes to its mechanical bits, the Toyota Tamaraw is built on a ladder-frame chassis equipped with an independent front suspension and a rigid leaf spring for the rear. Stopping power, meanwhile, is provided by front disc brakes and rear drum brakes.

Under the hood of the Philippine-spec model is a 2.4-liter turbodiesel inline-four or 2.0-liter inline-four gasoline mill. At maximum, the trims fitted with the diesel engine are capable of producing a max output of up to 150 PS and 400 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. The gasoline versions, on the other hand, can churn out 139 PS and 183 Nm of torque. 

Depending on the trim, the Toyota Tamaraw is available with a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic transmission.
